How should I light the game area ?
We recommend simple blue led lights, or projectors with a violet/blue color (eg. LEE 181 filter - congo blue). You may also use red color. In fact the more you use color near the borders of the visible spectrum, the more the laser shapes will be visible at equal fog.
Do I need complete darkness for the system to operate ?
Technically no, the system works the same, but it is better if laser shapes are visible in mid-air and not only by their projection on the ground. A dark atmosphere is ok but complete darkness with your own lights is better again.
Can I use haze instead of smoke ?
Yes, you can. Haze is recommended all the time, but particularly on big volumes.
But, our experience of many years in vertical atmospheric projections showed us clearly that the best result is achieved when using a smoke machine with a fan or blower. The reason is simple : you create marbling effects that have more density and irregularity, so volumes are better discerned in that case.
Do you provide the laser projector with LAARIS Box One ?
We do not sell any laser projector as we concentrate on software and hardware for Laser companies or laser owners, operators, etc. who already have their own laser.
Can I create a real reactive laser alarm ?
Yes, absolutely yes. And the good thing is that you can make it better than other systems as when detection occurs, you can move, recolor, and change the beams to something else. You are free to create any laser animation, in fact... Also, you can use mirrors like museum alarms you can see in movies.
It works great because the beams are reflected by mirrors and moreover, the LAARIS Box camera sees perfectly through the same mirror !! So, detection happens even through a mirror, simply said.
You reasonably have any beam crossing one mirror and you have a complete laser alarm with up to 40 beams here and there, just with one laser projector !!
How the laser and camera are aligned together ?
Alignment is fast using the contour detection method. Simply place a few pieces of paper or detectable objects onto the playground and click on button CONTOUR TEST. Laser shapes will appear, probably not aligned with the pieces of paper. Using the "Zone warp" area, you can select 3 modes (Side, symmetric and mesh) to warp your laser zone and align the shapes on the object placed on stage.
For this,  you can use the 9 points in the mesh to select the correction. Then use fast and slow movements in 4 directions (simple and double arrows - or - keyboard arrows and Control-arrows).
Then, you can use the DETECTION TEST to check alignment. Everything is saved automatically. Nothing to save, it is automatic.
Can I install the laser horizontally
Yes, but and in that case, the projector should be higher than the viewers eyes, and be oriented downward to maximize safety. With this installation, The Gate is interesting as bending the projection gives an atmospheric laser show where people can pass through. Football or Bubble Pop Duel may be played in projection to a wall also. Even Bamboo Forest can be interesting horizontally as you can remove the border for a better readability in that case.
Is it safe for audiences ?
It is safe, if the following conditions are met:

The operator is trained and qualified to operate laser shows.
The operator has read the documentation and in particular, the alignement procedure.

For all the games, he included Safety Ghosts system blanks the laser shapes in real-time without any game interference. The alignment procedure is necessary for the Safety Ghost to work.
Can I create my own game ?
You can already customize the frames from the existing games, with certain rules given in the documentation. For a dual state reactive installation, The Gate allows you to fully create this reactive installation. If you want a totally custom game, we can create it for you, but soon, we will give our users updates including a scriptable version using python.
